Life Together In The Pursuit of Jesus

Connect in community

We were made for community. No one exists to do life on their own. We need spaces made up of people from all generations of life, to share stories, eat meals, pray, and study God’s Word. We need a space where we work to consider each other over ourselves. No community is perfect, and no two communities are exactly the same; we don’t expect them to be, because people are messy and so is our pursuit of Jesus.

Lead a community

We are looking for people who have a passion and vision to lead. People who can't escape a desire to see the name of Jesus be made famous in their city and in the hearts of the people who live there. If you are one of these people, we would love to start talking about having you plant a Pleasant Hill Community.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Communities are the primary way that we scatter during the week. Meeting in homes centered around a neighborhood, we study the Bible, pray, eat, and spend time doing life together in messy pursuit of Jesus.

Pleasant Hill Communities are established on 4 identities:

BELONG

We have a deep desire to belong. We all need a place where we are free to be ourselves. We need a place where it is okay to be in process, where we are loved in spite of our failings. Pleasant Hill Communities are places where you can be known and belong now.

LEARN

We need an environment where we can learn about God, other people, and ourselves. We are continually learning more about God and how the Gospel affects and applies to our daily lives, helping us see everything through the lens of who God is and what He has done for us through Jesus.

WORSHIP

We are all worshippers, which is why each of us needs a greater awareness of the depth of our sin and the goodness of God as he demonstrates His love for us in Jesus. This cultivates worship centered around the only one who deserves it.

Mission

We are all called to be missionaries. We are called to serve those around us and proclaim the truth of what Jesus has done for us. We live life on mission in the places we live, work, and play working alongside God to see people reconciled to relationship with Him and culture be renewed for His glory and our joy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS CHILDCARE PROVIDED?

We desire to for our Pleasant Hill Communities to be multi-generational. So, we want everyone, including the kiddos, to be integrated into what’s going on. We love kids and we embrace with joy the responsibility to disciple them.

WHAT WILL WE STUDY?

Almost every Community will work through the message from the Sunday gathering together. They look to dig deeper in truth and application together. Some may choose supplemental material as well.

WHERE DO THEY MEET?

Communities mostly meet in homes, but sometimes in restaurants, parks, and coffee shops all across the city. We will help you find a Community near you based on your neighborhood you signed up with.

HOW OFTEN TO THEY MEET?

Communities meet on different days and times throughout the week. Most will meet every week, while others may choose to implement some different rhythms for when or how often they get together.
